This lot contains a vintage set of six Montana postcards as well as a modern postcard displaying landscapes of Montana. The vintage set is held in a sort of envelope, which is in great condition. The images on the postcards are in perfect condition and display landscapes from Montana. The backs of the cards give information about what the image displays. Five of the postcards were produced by H.S. Crocker Co., Inc., in Portland, Oregon (information on back of the cards). The five images were captured by The Advertising Dept., Montana Highway Commission (also on the back of the cards). The sixth card was produced by the Graphic Marketing Services in Hixson, Tennessee. The modern postcard contains nine images of Montana on the front and is entitled, "Big Sky Country". The back of the card gives a brief history of Montana. One of the images was captured by Jack Archibald while the other eight were done by Lawrence Dodge. The card was published and distributed by Big Sky Magic Enterprises in Helmville, Montana. This information can be found on the back of the postcard.
The modern postcard is in great condition with the exception of a few very light marks on the back. The vintage postcard images are all in excellent condition and most of the backs are as well. However, one of the cards contains a small amount of writing in pencil along the side and a few have a couple of light marks. The envelope is in great condition, though a little damage has been made to the edges and writing in pen in the upper-right corner is visible. The back has some marks on it and contains a mailing address as well as a stamp to the right of this.
