This is a boho handwoven Guatemalan fabric crossbody bag made by Concerned Crafts.
It is made of 100% cotton fabric. The front and back are woven by hand by an artisan in Guatemala and feature a typical Guatemalan stripe pattern with repeating bird motifs. The top of the bag closes with both hook and loop tape and zipper closures. The front has 3 additional zipper pockets, and the back has one zipper pocket. The bag has a plain black cotton strap with a swivel clip on one end. The bag is lightly padded with squishy foam and has a white lining. Some of the birds have contrasting colored eyes.
It is big enough to hold a small laptop or a full sized binder. When laid flat it measures approximately 14" by 12" and has a gusset for a maximum depth of 3".
This bag comes from new old stock - it has never been worn, but was in storage for 20 years. The pictures show the exact bag you will receive.
Concerned Crafts was a non-profit organization that operated in the 90s with the mission of providing charities with goods for fundraising while allowing disadvantaged artisans to become self-sustaining. Goods were purchased by Concerned Crafts for living wages from artisans in Guatemala, India, Kenya, and Pakistan. These items are old stock from before Concerned Crafts ceased operations.
