This is an 1889 photogravure print of the Coronation of the Empress Josephine by Jacques-Louis David (1748–1825). Issued for the Paris Exposition Universelle and published by Gebbie & Husson Co. Ltd. The print is a vintage reproduction of David’s monumental painting, depicting Napoleon crowning Empress Joséphine at Notre-Dame Cathedral on December 2, 1804. It measures approximately 10.5 x 12 inches, with overall matting of 16 x 17 inches. The piece is dealer matted and shrink wrapped for protection. Includes a printed description of the artwork and artist. In good pre-owned condition with several spots of foxing visible on the print.
